Kalamanthis
Kalamanthis is a rare psychotropic plant which only grows on the slopes of the Griffon's Roost in the Cairn Hills, and harvested and sold by the monks of the Twilight Monastery. A potent narcotic, the raw root can be chewed, the leaf can be dried and smoked or snorted, and the sap can be boiled into a concentrated paste and injected.[1]
Monks of the Twilight Monastery use Kalamanthis in controlled rituals. People of any social status in Diamond Lake might use kalamanthis, but it is largely exported to the Free City. Trade of kalamanthis to and from the city are off-limits to bandits or other interruption, for fear of retribution by the monks.[1]
