Personality
Despite his alignment and profession, he has a fondness for children due to his traumatic childhood as an slave of orcs. He despises cruelty toward children and, upon discovering such behavior, warns the perpetrators. If they do not reform, he employs the Assassins' Guild to end their cruelty permanently.[3]

These serve as fronts for his guild activities and provide him with income. He also has three mistresses, one tied to each disguise, none of whom know his true identity.[1]

History
Turin Birdstalker, born in the Shield Lands near the Horned Society border, was the son of a low-ranking soldier. At age ten, he was captured during a Horned Society raid that likely killed his family. Enslaved by a half-orc tribal chief, who renamed him Turin Deathstalker, he endured years of servitude before being trained as an assassin. He excelled, earning his master's trust, but secretly despised the orcs.
After gaining skills and reaching the rank of Waghalter, Turin exacted revenge by assassinating the entire tribe, including his mentor, and fled with their wealth. He then served a high-ranking member of the Horned Society in Molag, where he honed advanced skills in intrigue, disguise, poison, and espionage. Following his patron's assassination, Turin joined Greyhawk’s Assassins' Guild, where he remains a skilled and vengeful operative.[1]
In Safeton, as Commandant of the Safeton garrison, he created the Penal Militia. This force consists of convicted criminals assigned to two roles: hardened offenders serve as shackled lookouts on Safeton's defenses, armed only in desperate situations, with the hope of eventual conscription into the Hardby Marines. Others are sent as shackled guards to Wild Plains communities, where they act as expendable border lookouts, often dying during raids. Life in the militias is brutal and short.[5]
