Uskarn is a village in the Southern Coast region of Nyrond.
It is one of the Small Ports located along the coast of Relmor Bay, being a fishing village with a population (in 585 CY) of around 1,000 people, and has modest docking facilities for the Nyrondese navy.
In 585 CY it was bullied by royal bailiffs raising taxes following the Greyhawk Wars. The locals were surly and fearful of the naval militias that visited and demanded food and supplies. Their own militia troops were relatively ineffective. Smuggling was a way of life and a few people had even turned to piracy. The common unhappiness and erosion of virtue which beset Nyrond was quite visible in this otherwise simple, unexceptional community.[1]
