Description
Appearance
Yendrenn is 6'3", blonde, and fair skinned. He takes extraordinary pride in his appearance, nearing the point of vanity, is always well-groomed, and tends to wear silk blouses unbuttoned to the navel.
Personality
Yendrenn is "dashing and charming".[1]
Abilities
Str 17, Dex 17, Int 16, Cha 17[2]
Equipment and possessions
The Seawolf is Yendrenn's personal ship. It bears the image of the eponymous sea wolf on the sail rather than the sea serpant that that adorns the sails of other vessels in the Domain of the Sea Barons [1]
He owns a ring of protection +5.[2]
Relationships
Pamdarn is a distant cousin of Yendrenn's[2] and also a close personal friend.[2]
Yendrenn's father died in 583 CY.[3]
Minions
Yendrenn employs a sallow-faced mage called Rhennen, who travels aboard the Seawolf, to cast spells such as telekinesis and airy water[1].
Activities
Vintage naval cartography is of interest to Yendrenn. Even old, out-of-date maps intrigue him.[3] He also "studies the myths and legends of the islands, and has an encyclopedic knowledge of them." He is willing to share such knowledge, but only with those he deems trustworthy.[3]
Yendrenn spends a significant amount of time searching for shipwrecks, and their flotsam, jetsam, lagan, and derelict. He will take most any opportunity to investigate verifiable information from sages, diviners, and others. Notably, his "recovery of nearly 40,000 gp worth of pearls and ingots of precious metal from the hulk of a Duxchan ship sunk in 515 CY ... brought him fame." He makes a point of agreeing to specified division and share of the prize recovered, and holds to deals he negotiates.[1]
In Living Greyhawk
In Fiori Neri (2001, RPGA) Yendrenn is noted for being involved in transporting an elven woman, Lady Aleena Elmbright, and her companions on an expedition to find rare black flowers near haunted ruins at Cape Rarn on the southern point of Fairisle.[4] The flowers are found at a "temple [of Wee Jas] which was part of an original Suel village; both were abandoned over 500 years ago." Harquil gives a marked map to the ship captain and the adventurers.[5]
