A conflicting date for the construction of Castle Greyhawk is given in From the Ashes (1992), Atlas p.4, which claims that he began building the castle in [[375 CY]]. This contradicts WGR1 Greyhawk Ruins (1990) p.3, which gives a date of "around 320 CY", and the later The Adventure Begins (1998), which concurs with a date of "around 320 CY" for the construction of the castle and its three towers.

In the late 1990s, Wizards of the Coast's Team Greyhawk favored the date of c. 320 CY, which was logged as such in the Greychrondex. Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk (2007) finally pinned down the date specifically to the [[summer]] of 320 CY.
