Xuxeteanlahucuxolazapaminaco, known as His Observant Majesty, the Ravenous King, the Trembling Earth, and the Eye-God, is the sole known greater gibbering mouther, an unexpected mutation of that already unnatural species. It rules the nation of Chetanicatla in the Amedio Jungle as god-king, though it is not truly a god.

Description

Xuxeteanlahucuxolazapaminaco is larger and stronger than most other gibbering mouthers, but resembles them closely in general appearance, being a large blob of acidic, slimy flesh filled with eyes and mouths, babbling in many voices simultaneously. Its spittle can burn as well as blind, and Xuxeteanlahucuxolazapaminaco has the ability to create grapefruit-sized buds of its body known as gibberspawn, which attach themselves parasitically to sapient hosts, whispering compulsions and commands.

History

Xuxeteanlahucuxolazapaminaco was created in -490 CY, when a plague hit the city of Chetanicatla, sowing madness, fever, and death in its adult inhabitants. At the time, it was a normal gibbering mouther kept by the high priests of Huhueteotl to guard their temple, but the plague altered it, giving it greater intelligence and strange new abilities. Xuxeteanlahucuxolazapaminaco used its gibberspawn to gain control of the madness-wracked city, carving an empire for itself in the jungle.
