The Isles of Axuxual depicted by Sam Wood, from the poster map in The Scarlet Brotherhood, 1998.

The Isles of Axuxal are five islands in the Vohoun Ocean, south of the Amedio Jungle.

People & Inhabitants

The native humans in the Isles of Axuxal are Olman. Peaceful families emigrated to these islands from shattered nations in Amedio. The hills of the five islands are overgrown with thick jungle. Yet, beneath them is an extensive cave system which the Axuxal people have claimed as their home. They also make use of outriggers to fish the waters around the islands. They enjoy a quiet and peaceful existence and avoid much attention from outsiders. When they occasionally discover items worth trading, they make the journey to other Olman settlements in Amedio to trade.

Years ago, a priest of St. Cuthbert stumbled upon the islands. Thinking that the islanders could all be converted to his faith, he oversaw the construction of two wooden buildings in the village of Renkrue. He died shortly after the buildings were completed. The village of Renkrue is the eastern most settlement on the isles, with a total population of 780. The village is the most advanced of the Axuxial settlements, since it consists of straw huts in addition to the two wooden buildings. One of wooden buildings serve as a communal hall, while the other serves as the hut for Chief Ixawhani. The occasional ship will stop here to trade items for food. While only a few residents know Common, they are nonetheless friendly and talkative.[1]
