The Council of Greyhawk was an unofficial coalition of Greyhawk fans formed in the early-mid 90's. Established during a time when TSR wasn't releasing supplements and modules for the setting, the Council's stated mission was to keep "the World of Greyhawk™ a viable campaign world." [1]
The Council is best-known in Greyhawk fandom for publishing the earlier issues of the Oerth Journal from 1995 to 1999.
History
The Council of Greyhawk initially was a project begun on the AOL message boards. Members of the Council were known for consistently contributing to the "TSR Online" message boards on AOL, when the company had exclusive content in the AOL (America Online) "folders".[2] Later, logs of those folders which had been archived by members would be proliferated by fans, being called the "Best of Greyhawk on AOL".
Notable members
Among the numerous members of Council of Greyhawk were Tom Harrison (Blusponge), Gary Holian (PSmedger), Len Lakofka (Leomund), Frank Mentzer (ExTSR), Erik Mona (Iquander), Roger Moore (TSRRoger), Samantha Quest (QSamantha), Fred Weining (Psychlops), Steve Wilson (Tamerlian), Dennis Couch (Renegade54), and Daniel Craig (Aeolius).[2][3][4]
