The Sword Road is a road in the Kingdom of Nyrond from Mithat to Kurast's Tower along the Almorian border.
Description
The Sword Road is a muddied trail between Mithat and Kurast's Tower, along the former border of the remnants of the Prelacy of Almor ruled by Duke Szeffrin. In times of conflict, it was constantly patrolled by Nyrondese troops and travelled by supply wagons bringing food, clothes, and weaponry to constantly reprovision the many militia posts along the road. Earthwork defenses and fortified militia posts were erected (similar to Furyondy's Flare Line).[1][2]
In Spring 585 CY Nyrond had no less than 25,000 men under arms along the eastern border using the Sword Road as the supply road for them. The ruins of Almor lay beyond a mile wide no man's land.[1]
When the armies of Nyrond were amassed along the Sword Road in defense against Duke Szeffrin's forces, in 585 CY, [3] two great fiery stone chariots flew above the road attacking Nyrond forces below. The charioteers were tracked down to Bloodcrystal.[2]
