Coach Keeps are a series of coaching taverns marking out the dirawaen road between Jalpa and Kalstrand that provide lodgings and protection to those traveling along the road and make the route safe, which drives commerce between the two cities, benefiting both of them economically.[1]
Description
Each of the taverns is attached to the keep of one of Xavener's siblings or cousins, hence the name, and is garrisoned by local troops, with more troops patrolling the area between the keeps to prevent bandit attacks. The taverns themselves are also quite comfortable and are shielded against divination spells of less than fourth level. The keeps are a notoriously good place to hear local gossip, especially about petty disputes between the princelings.[1]
