The Vohoun Ocean is the local name for the Pearl Sea used by the inhabitants of the island areas off the southeastern Amdeio coast. Sometimes, the term is applied to all of the waters south of the Olman Isles, including the Densac Gulf.[1][2]

"Although some texts refer to this as the "Pearl Sea," the pirates who live on its scattered islands call it the Vohoun. which means "frothy" in their language, probably a reference to the swirling fog banks that hide islands, reefs, ships and creatures. The Vohoun is home to many sea monsters, and a foolish mariner is likely to end up a meal. The Amedio coast is full of dangerous reefs and submerged rocks, and ships must take great care to avoid being holed."[3]

Among the notable locations in the Vohoun are the Pirate Isles, the Mist Kingdom, and the Isle of Dread.

The Scarlet Brotherhood's "monopoly of Oerik’s southeastern seas gives them considerable economic influence, and their colonial outposts reach as far as the southwest shores of Hepmonaland and deep into the Vohoun Ocean."[4]

Where the Pearl Sea meets the west coast of Hepmonaland, it is instead known as the Vogan Sea.
