History

Tovag Baragu is on the site of the former capital city of the Baklunish Empire[1], located at the northern end of Lake Udrukankar. The capital was demolished in the Invoked Devastation called down by the Suel Imperium as part of the Twin Cataclysms, which obliterated both the Suel Imperium and Baklunish Empire at the end of the Baklunish-Suloise Wars.

In 5094 SD (-422 CY) the Suloise Mages of Power, who practiced a kind of magic unknown in the Common Era, created a terrible cataclysm remembered as the Invoked Devastation. The details of this calamity are unclear, except the fertile heartlands of the Baklunish Empire were transformed into the Dry Steppes, her great cities and rivers now entirely gone.
