General information
Type:Book

The Wye Canon is a religious text for a reformationist order tying several major good religions together.[1]

Description

The Wye Canon is the very first collected religious text in history written entirely in the Common language.[2] While the reformationist movement it represents has not yet ever been successful, the fact that it is in Common had the unintended effect of "making religious texts more available to the masses."[1]

This book was written by Justin Wye, a bishop of Rao from Jurnre in 507 CY. It was promulgated 35 years later by an unknown cleric in 542 CY. [2]

At the time of its writing, there was a "pantheon" movement. Wye was an ardent supporter of the movement and sought to unite several major good religions into the "Church of the Greater Good". This is not unlike the Edoiran Compact which once sought as similar goal. Some churches had followers of both groups, though the pantheon movement was never as successful as Edoira's.

Teachings from Pelor, Rao, Heironeous, St. Cuthbert, Pholtus, Ulaa, and Zilchus can all be found in the Wye Canon.[1] Wye tried to consolidate them all into them into a coherent whole.

Physical description

As one might expect from a sect which seeks to unite churches, the cover of this brown leather book is embossed with the holy symbols of Pelor, Rao, and Zilchus. it measures 7" x 8” and has 363 paper 34- line pages.[2] This is an illuminated text with all margins having decorations and the first letter of each page is a large, red calligraphic capital.[2] "The first page is a copper-plate print of Rao."[2]
