Shantadern is a village in the Southern Coast region of Nyrond.
It is one of a number of the Small Ports located along the coast of Relmor Bay, being a fishing village with a population (in 585 CY) of around 1,000 people, and has modest docking facilities for the Nyrondese navy.
In 585 CY it was bullied by royal bailiffs raising taxes following the Greyhawk Wars. The locals were surly and fearful of the naval militias that visited and demanded food and supplies.
