Prince Myrhal of Rax is thought to be the only death knight of high noble birth. His personal symbol is the Sun of Aerdy, but ringed with teeth.

Appearance

Prince Myrhal resembles an armor-clad skeleton with glowing red eyes. He wears a golden crown on his head; this headpiece, known as Myrhal's Crown, is believed by Myrhal to be one third of the Regalia of Evil. He also carries the Oozing Trident of Azharadian, a corrupted weapon once belonging to the great general Azharadian.

Relationships

Myrhal was a cousin of Overking Jiranen. His seneschal is an old vampire called Lurgenz.

Realm

Prince Myrhal now dwells in the Adri Forest some 45 miles south of the Coldwood. He continuously researches and sends raids into the Coldwood to learn what he can of the ancient elven city there.

History

Originally from Dustbridge, he was perhaps the greatest supporter of the rebel paladin Lord Kargoth when he betrayed the Knight Protectors of the Great Kingdom. Myrhal had desired to take the Malachite Throne for himself, but he failed to anticipate being transformed into a death knight.

Although being transformed into an undead horror cost him his noble lands, he now reveres in his power and endless life. He still seems himself as the rightful ruler of the Great Kingdom. In the 430s CY, he allied himself with Ivid I, having his own relatives assassinated as part of a plan that he thought would put himself on the throne. Instead, Ivid I double-crossed the death knight and took the throne for himself. Myrhal's ancestral lands of Dustbridge were given to the House of Naelax and their forests cleared. Myrhal swore eternal enmity toward the House of Naelax and all its descendants.

A century ago, Prince Myrhal won his Crown from the lich Hathamriz the Dissaffected.

With the recent destruction of Rauxes, Prince Myrhal now believes the time is ripe for him to assume his rightful rule.
