The Burned Circle and environs, as depicted in The Scarlet Brotherhood (1999). Art by Sam Wood.

The Burned Circle is a 40-foot diameter ring of charred, blackened earth in the northeastern region of the Tilvanot Penninsula. Within the ring are the smaller burned marks—primitive versions of the symbols of Allitur, Nerull, Olidammara, and Pelor. Worshipers of Flan deities are blessed if they enter the circle; worshipers of non-Flan faiths feel sick, and those who remain too long find their skin erupts into painful sores.

The Scarlet Brotherhood has tried to destroy the Circle many times, but nothing has worked.
