According to Mordenkainen, Xagy was one of the creators of Queen Ehlissa's Marvelous Nightingale. If so, he (assuming Xagy was male) must have been alive over 1,700 years ago, and may have been, like Queen Ehlissa, Flan. Xagy may also be the creator of the Talisman of Zagy.
Xagy was mentioned by Gary Gygax in the first edition Dungeon Master's Guide.
