Nodwick is both a long-running comedic comicstrip series by Aaron Williams, and the namesake henchman who appears in the eponymously named series.

Nodwick and company have adventured in parodies of a number of Greyhawk scenarios over the years, includingTomb of Horrors,[2] Against the Giants,[3], White Plume Mountain,[4] Vecna Lives!,[5], Temple of Elemental Evil: (Hommlet)[6], and Kingdom of the Ghouls,[7] though they have been spotted on other worlds as well.

Description

Nodwick is short for a human (5'4"), with a large nose (for ballast). He is always seen with a red shirt, blue pants, and a helmet.

Relationships

Nodwick has claimed to have served as a henchman for every member of the Circle of Eight (at the time, Mordenkainen, Bigby, Otiluke, Otto, Rary, Tenser, Nystul, Drawmij, and Jallarzi Sallavarian) over the years. Currently he is in the employ of the adventurers Artax, Yeagar, and Piffany.

Because of his many trips to the afterlife, Nodwick has a base 25% chance of being recognized by any deity.

History

Born with a talent for carrying large heavy objects, Nodwick seemed destined for the life of a henchman. He served a variety of adventurers, including various members of the Circle of Eight. After a particularly grueling stint with a party with the finesse of a meat grinder, he signed on to Artax, Piffany, and Yeagar's party because they were ostensibly "lawful good," in the hopes of improving his fortunes. No such luck: Yeagar and Artax treat him as a combination beast of burden and trap-detector, and the virtuous cleric Piffany is too oblivious to stop them. Nodwick has died countless times since he signed his contract with the group, each time being duly patched up by Piffany with her duct tape of healing.
