Barrish is a small, impoverished fishing village on the southern coast of Medegia on the Aerdy Sea, which survived the sack post-Greyhawk Wars because the people found strength in numbers and feared fleeing to the north, though their only means of protection was an ill equipped and poorly-disciplined local levy. The people of the village relay entirely on fishing and subsistence farming to get by.
History
The small fishing village did not do so well in the violent sack of Medegia, and was left impoverished. Matters were further complicated by a raid by pirates in Flocktime of 585 CY, leaving the small village devastated. Things did improve somewhat when The Overking Xavener took over the shattered remains of Medegia in 587 CY.

Population
In 585 CY, the population of Barrish was roughly 700 individuals, mostly human, though that number was down somewhat due to the war.
Government
While the city now falls officially under the auspices of the Kingdom of Ahlissa, the ruler of the city is Prince Alaern, a petty princeling of the House Garasteth, who was more than willing to sell them out to the Scarlet Brotherhood or anyone else before the Overking took over, and refrained from doing so simply because he did not have the proper contacts. He is known for imposing high taxes and brutal punishments to any who dare break the law.
