Plane of Faerie, also called the Feywild and in some places Phaerie or Phæree, is a plane within the Great Wheel known for being the original homeland of fey creatures.
Description
"The Feywild, also called the Plane of Faerie, is a land of soft lights and wonder, a place of music and death. It is a realm of everlasting twilight, with glittering faerie lights bobbing in the gentle breeze and fat fireflies buzzing through groves and fields. The sky is alight with the faded colors of an ever-setting sun, which never truly sets (or rises for that matter); it remains stationary, dusky and low in the sky. Away from the settled areas ruled by the seelie fey that compose the Summer Court, the land is a tangle of sharp-toothed brambles and syrupy fens — perfect territory for the unseelie fey to hunt their prey."[1]
The Plane of Faerie is ruled by two queens—Titania, Queen of Summer (also seen as the "Queen of Light") and the Queen of Air and Darkness. Each has their own court of follwers—the Seelie Court and Unseelie Court, respectively.
History
Structure
The Feywild is parallel to the Prime Material.[2] In some editions, it is called a "coextistent Outer Plane."[3] Either way, it overlaps the Material Plane and can be accessed from it, without passing through the Astral.[3].
There are many domains in various parts of the Plane of Faerie. Most fall under the Seelie or Unseelie Courts (see below). Others live outside those realms, out in the Feywild. One known such domain is Prismeer, ruled by an archfey called Zybilna, also known as Iggwilv.
