The Citadel of Salt is where a new citadel was built (585-586 CY) in the lands controlled by Prince Harnnad of House Darmen.

Description

The site was originally a keep that was razed by Osson and his army during the Greyhawk Wars. The construction was slated to be finished by summer of 586 CY, but the construction fell behind schedule. It was designed to be a defensive bastion and riverboat base to protect against attacks from Sunndi.[1]

History

The keep originally on the site was used to protect the salt trade from the east before the Great War. Later, Prince Harnnad used dwarven slaves taken from Sunndi to build a newer citadel, keeping their children hostage in Bluelode to ensure their loyalty to the orc and half-orc overseers and discoursge sabotage. Unfortunately, the bulk of the labor was being done by prisoners serving forced labor terms, causing the construction to fall behind schedule which resulted in beatings for the dwarven slaves.[1]

Geography

The site is located along the Thelly River between Bluelode and Nulbish
