This template is for use in any article about a named character (NPC) in the World of Greyhawk campaign setting.

Usage

Copy and paste this section to the top of the article, and fill in the information areas. The image and caption parameters are optional, but are preferred.

If any fields are left undefined they will not appear. The recommended image size is a width of 250px so that it will completely fill the infobox without increasing its size.

Add wiki links to articles in "|home=" for the listed homeland by putting the name of the place inside double brackets, [[like this]], as well as in "|race=" and "|ethnicity"=.

Do NOT add wiki links to alignments.

In parameters using dates: if you include a numerical year, "CY" is automatically added, do not add it manually. You may also use phrases, as well, like "[[Fourth century CY]]", or "Spring [[591 CY]]", or "after [[576 CY]]" If a date is unknown simply leave the parameter blank, unless lore indicates the date is unknown in-character.

Parameters

image

the main displayed image for the character. Use this format: [[File:Filename.png|250px]] If an image is needed, please use the Upload Page to add an image in JPG, PNG, or similar formats. The image will not be resized automatically to fit the infobox—do not exceed more than 100dpi and no more than 300px wide.

caption

A brief description of the image above, if necessary, including art credit, if the artist is known.

name

Optional. The name of the character. Should be the name by which they are most frequently known, or their full name if that would not be clear. Only use this parameter if the character's name is significantly different than the Page Name.

alt_spelling

If the character's name has an alternate spelling, such as in another (in-universe) language, include it here.

title

Any titles attributed to the character.

nickname

Any nicknames used by the character or assigned to them by another.

home

Either their place of birth, most frequent location, or both.

formerhome

Use to list the place(s) this character lived in the past.

gender

The character's gender if known or relevant. Typically "Feminine" or "Female", "Masculine" or "Male", "Sexless" or "Unknown", as supported by the sources. Though other options are allowed, such as "Neuter" (or left blank) for creatures who use the pronoun "it". Many celestials and fiends are technically genderless, as are many other creatures, such as beholders, doppelgangers, and mind flayers. "Nonbinary" for some creatures who use alternative pronouns. However, leave blank if not explicitly mentioned in a source. If left blank, males will be assumed to be masculine, females will be assumed to be feminine, and genderless persons or those with an unknown sex will be considered of an unspecified gender. Keep in mind that many creatures without a biological sex still identify as masculine or feminine. Others do not.

race

Human, elf, dwarf, orc, etc.

ethnicity

For races with subspecies, their ethnicity: Oeridian, Grey elf, etc.

occupation

State what the character does for a living, not their class. For example, if they are a noble ruler, merchant, or a beggar, you can include this here.

class

Give the character's class levels. If this entity was described in more than one edition of D&D or their levels changed over time, then list the class(es) for each and give a source reference such as with {{csb}} or <ref>.

alignment

The alignment of this character, if known. Individuals will invariably have just one alignment, but note the edition if the character's alignment changed in different sources.

age

The character's approximate age, if it isn't specifically stated somewhere (in which case the dob parameter should be used). This can also be used to state a creature's age category, such as "Early 50s" or "Venerable" When used, it should be qualified by giving the year they were that approximate age. For example, if Bob the monk were in his mid-twenties in 585 CY, this parameter should read "age = Mid-twenties in [[585 CY]]". This can be approximate (use 'approx' if this is the case).

dob

Date of Birth. When the character was born. Input only a number with no punctuation, e.g. "571", and not "571 CY".

turned

The year in which the character was turned undead. Input only a number, e.g. "571", and not "571 CY".

death

When the character died. Input only a number with no punctuation, e.g. "1330", and not "1,330 DR".

destroyed

When an undead character faced final death. Input only a number with no punctuation, e.g. "571", and not "571 CY".

languages

What languages does this character speak?

parents

Who were this character's parents?

spouses

Who was this character's spouse (or spouses)?

siblings

Who was this character's sibling or who were his or her siblings?

children

Who was this character's child or who were their children?

patron deity

The deity(ies) the character worships. If someone is faithless then 'None' or leave blank.
