Leukish is the capital of the Duchy of Urnst.

History

Leukish began around 200 CY as a trading post between Furyondy and Nyrond.[1] With the establishment of the Shore Watch castle in Nesserhead in 237 CY, the capital of the Duchy moved from Seltaren to the Leukish, leaving the former to degenerate into a swarm of old politics and run-down buildings[2]

Geography and climate

It's surrounded on three side by flat grassland and Nyr Dyv on the north side.

People

Population

One of the largest cities in the Flanaess, Leukish houses over 21,000 people. A small village of halflings has sprung up to the southwest of the city.

Currency

Uses the duchy's standard coinage consisting of the platinum sterling duke (pp), gold duke (gp), electrum bright (ep), silver shield (sp), and copper common (cp).[3]

Leukish Castle is a medium sized fortress representing one of the largest forces on the Nyr Dyv, second only to Admundfort in the shield lands. The castle has enough supplies to last for a year long siege if necessary. The castle houses more than two thousand soldiers at any given time and nearly fifteen hundred are aboard warships patrolling the southeast quarter of the Nyr Dyv. All soldiers are trained as light infantry and marines, while many are also archers and artillerists.[1]

The docks can support up to 20 warships complete with a large repair facility.

The Lukala River flows near Leukish from Seltaren and empties into the Nyr Dyv.[4]
