Perrenland Cantons are eight regions of the nation of Perrenland originally defined by natural features and clan boundaries.
The original eight "founding" cantons have (with one exception) retained roughly the same borders over the past two centuries, while the clans themselves have intermarried and spread, in some cases across all Perrenland. There are now very few areas that are completely populated by only one clan, and likewise few clans limit themselves to only one area.
Cantons are separate political entities within the nation. Each is headed by a Cantonal Council to manage affairs.
There are talks among Perrenland leaders to annex the Sepia Uplands and incorporate it into Perrenland. The new territory would be named Vesbergen.
