The Diamond Lake Garrison, usually simply called "the garrison" by locals, is in Diamond Lake, one of the Domain of Greyhawk's mining towns, on the shores of the lake at the headwaters of the Ery River[1]; three days' travel from the Free City.[2] It is part of the Cairn Hills Force.

The fort sits high upon the westernmost hill of the three surrounding Diamond Lake. The hill is 100ft high, and gives the fort a commanding view of the road coming into town from the Free City and over the town and lakeside.[3] It was originally founded centuries prior, it even pre-dates the founding of the Free City.[2]

Within the garrison is a chapel dedicated to Heironeous. It is a "large, high-ceilinged chamber." It has the second-largest community of worshippers in the small town.[2]

More than sixty militia personnel are stationed here. Their duties include "patrolling the northern hills, keeping watch over the lizardfolk-infesied Mistmarsh to the south, and liaising with halfling, gnome, and dwarf communities in the region."[4][2]

"The Blackwall Keep militia may call for reinforcements from here if trouble erupts in the Mistmarsh, so it is not entirely a backwater post."[4]
