Thessalar is Oerth's most infamous transmuter, a lich who specializes in creating new monsters. He takes credit for the mimic, rust monster, owlbear and several other monstrosities. Thessalar claims to be the wizard behind most of the monsters created via arcane experimentation. He's known for creating the thessalhydra and related creatures, which have multiple hydra-like heads surrounding a central maw.
Thessalar currently dwells in the Wormcrawl Fissure, near Riftcanyon.
