Schukendale is a settlement in the eastern part of the Kingdom of Nyrond, on the edge of the Flinty Hills.
Description
Schukendale is a fortress town standing at the southern edge of the Flinty Hills, within the Kingdom of Nyrond. Snake Pass and Ogrebolt Pass lead north out of the town, to Mistwatch and Glandeven respectively. The town is named for the shuken, a small and agile local breed of sheep. The town boasts three fortified keeps, and in 585 CY 1,000 soldiers were garrisoned there with many more scattered throughout the local area. These troops mostly acted as spies gathering information about potential threats and attacks from raiding humanoids from the Bone March. These well trained soldiers help was gladly received by the gnomes, dwarves and halflings of the Flinty Hills in fighting the humanoids. Most of the militia in the area are stationed around the mines in the hills. They have good morale and equipment, with many having good armor or shields of dwarven make as the Flinty Hills folk are generous to them.[1]
