You're absolutely right.  We would '''definitely''' like to have this "portal" broken down into more of what a "portal" is actually s'posed to be.

I'd wholly encourage seeing any of that kind of stuff. Especially making it into several pages, and the Portal just leads to '''all''' the calendar-related pages, similar to the [[:Category:Greyhawk chronology]].  The only reason it was pushed into a portal is that there were several pages that were named some kind of "Timeline" title, and we were trying to compile them all into a single timeline and consolidate it before we dicided what all content went where to make sure it wasn't being duplicated on multiple pages, didn't have confusing redundant names, or having had fan content in it.

Suggestion: Layout

I would make the following changes:

  • According to the Mediawiki documentation, a portal is more of a front page to a section than a complete list. I would move the complete history list to World of Greyhawk timeline as it was on the Greyparticle wiki, with Portal:History a list of lists of history articles and sections.
  • Before the last time the Greyparticle wiki went down and lost months of edits, I arranged the timeline list where The Roll of Years is a second-level heading, each Age or division of years is a third-level heading, each year is a hyperlinked fourth-level heading, each event is a bullet point underneath that heading, and the table of contents is limited to only show up to the third-level heading.
  • Perhaps I can set up some template-base solution to build the Roll of Years from the Events section of individual articles, or vice-versa. Rexidos (talk) 14:09, 23 May 2020 (CDT)

You're absolutely right. We would definitely like to have this "portal" broken down into more of what a "portal" is actually s'posed to be. I'd wholly encourage seeing any of that kind of stuff. Especially making it into several pages, and the Portal just leads to all the calendar-related pages, similar to the Category:Chronology.
