The College of Sages and Sorcery is an academic institution in the Duchy of Urnst which specializes in the tutelage of arcane arts.
Description
History
In the era of the First Dukes, the days before the decline of the Great Kingdom, the grateful Duchess Beatrude Urlirel granted a permanent lease to lands on the wooded hills south of Nellix to the fellowship of wizards who had aided her in the construction of Castle Shorewatch. These wizards founded an institution dedicated to the preservation of the magic and history of the Suel of the Maure Compact. Other colleges would emulate their example in the centuries to come, but the College of Sages and Sorcery remains the preeminent institution of arcane and historical study in the Duchy of Urnst.[1]
Members
Students seeking admission to the College of Sages and Sorcery must be able to cast arcane spells. A new student is admitted to the College with the status of Probationer and must advance to the status of Sophist within one calendar year of joining. Those who fail to advance are considered unsuited for further study at the College.
