Montesser started out as an encampment of orcs and is rapidly growing into a proper town, with crops and dairy goats. Despite settling down, these orcs are not pushovers and defend their territory fiercely. [1]
History
The town was founded toward the tail end of the Greyhawk Wars, after the sacking of Medegia, when a group of orcs decided that they were sick of war and getting kicked around by bigger orcs, and began using scavenged materials from all of the ruined villages which had been sacked to bulk-up their encampment and started trying to grow crops. They managed to take a few goats that had been left behind, and went from there. [1]
Sometime in late 584 or early 585 CY, a ship from the Domain of the Sea Barons came across the settlement and failed to loot it. Being impressed with the defenders, they made peace with the orcs living there and began trading with them. [1]
Geography
The rapidly growing settlement is on the eastern coast of what was once the See of Medegia, to the southeast of Mentrey, but farther north than Barrish.
People
Religion & Government
The village, such as it is, is matriarchal and led by handful of priestesses of the Orcish Goddess Luthic.
Economy
The village subsists off of some crops, the dairy goats, from whose milk they make a variety of cheeses, and the two fishing boats that they have they are still functional. Anything else they need they either scavenge from ruined villages, of which there are many in the area, or gain in trade from the Sea Barons, in exchange for not only food but also information about goings on in the area.
