Winninger's Guide to the Underdark is an in-universe book of lore detailing the Underdark, including some information on the mind flayers.[1] Its author is the sage Winninger.

A copy of this book appeared in the personal library of the archmage Kerleth.[2]

Creative origins

The title of this book is a reference to game designer Ray Winninger. Winniger is credited as a "referenced author" in the D&D sourcebook Drizzt Do'Urden's Guide to the Underdark[3], by Eric L. Boyd.
