Eda Oweland is the leader of the "Traditionalists" faction in Saltmarsh.
Description
"Eda is the current senior member of the town council, as well as the owner of three large fishing boats. Eda is keenly interested in expanding Saltmarsh’s fishing industry, her sights set on a wild section of the coast where she hopes to build a new dock. She is suspicious of the dwarves’ mining enterprise (run by Manistrad Copperlocks) and doubts it will amount to much. Oweland and her family are the informal leaders of the fishing industry in Saltmarsh."[1]

"Eda is a gruff, pragmatic woman whose graying hair is cut short and whose face bears the marks of a life lived outdoors."[1]
Personality
"Eda swears like a sailor when she is frustrated or angry, and the folk in town who support her appreciate her willingness to stick up for them. Despite her temper, she respects those who keep their cool. Anyone who stands up to her wins her respect. Those who try to flatter her earn her contempt."[2]

Relationships
Oweland has many contacts amongst the shipwrights of Saltmarsh.[3] She also deals a great deal with local shopkeepers and artisans who craft "rope, sails, tools, and other goods."[4]
Activities
Eda holds occasional feasts to honor local heroes.[5] She sometimes will offer adventurers favors for investigting or handling situations in lieu of the town guard.[6]
History
Oweland is a local through and through, and is highly regarded in the community. She grew up and spent her entire life in Saltmarsh, and she has won three separate elections for membership on the town council.[1]
