Appearance

Theldrat is a portly, coppery-skinned man in his late forties (c. 594 CY), with a long mustache.

Personality

Theldrat is a worrier, with nervous habits, such as curling his mustache or wring his hat.

Abilities

Theldrat is a highly skilled locksmith (Craft [locksmithing] +13, Open Lock +11).

Home

Theldrat owns a locksmith shop on Cairn Court in the Free City of Greyhawk, across from the Blue Dragon Inn.

Equipment and possessions

Theldrat inherited a powerful magic key from his father that was originally owned by Zagig Yragerne. Zagig created the key when he was Lord Mayor of Greyhawk. It is unknown how Theldrat's father came into possession of the key.

Relationships

Upon learning the cult of Vecna was behind the theft of his prized key in 594 CY, Theldrat views Vecnans as his enemies, having even spent a good deal of money investigating the cult.

History

In the spring of 594 CY, Theldrat's magic key was stolen from his shop by a half-orc named Irontusk, who had been hired to perform the task by the Green Daggers, a minor criminal gang which had been (unknowingly) manipulated by one Veltargo, a priest of Vecna. After learning who was responsible, Theldrat began pouring money into tracking down other members of the cult.

In Living Greyhawk

In addition to "The Mad God's Key," Theldrat plays a comparatively minor role in the Living Greyhawk scenario COR4-12 "Key to the Grave."

Theldrat Meldorp was created by Jason Bulmahn.

Publishing history

Theldrat first appeared in the Dungeon adventure, "The Mad God's Key," in 2004.
