Roanwood
Similar to sequoias in appearance, roanwood trees are far larger, and deciduous rather than coniferous. They can grow as tall as 150 feet, making them larger than even deklo trees. Their branches are relatively close to the ground, hanging a mere 30 feet from the forest floor. Their leaves are fan-shaped and about a foot in length, while their bark is reddish-brown speckled with gray. The wood is not as hard or as strong as hickory, bronzewood, or oak, but it is suitable for delicate furnishings.
In other media
In Rose Estes' novel Master Wolf, roanwood tea is an acrid beverage used by the Wolf Nomads as a cure for hangovers resulting from too much mandrake wine (page 90).
