Bellfields is a meadow located in a clearing in the heart of the Grandwood Forest, of some 200 yards in diameter which is under the effects of antipathy spell for evil aligned creatures. It is maintained by the priestess Taralene, high ranking priestess of Atroa and her three assistants, one of whom is a tenth level priest himself. The meadow also has powerful divine healing magic, which only works on natural animals, not monsters, people or demihumans. Any such creature who comes to the meadow falls into a deep sleep and has their wounds or illness healed, unless it is severe enough that they are too far along, in which case, they die painlessly in their sleep. Animals seem to know of the place and come from many miles around when injured. [1]
Description
A lush field where bluebells bloom in the spring, with a small stout wooden cabin in the center where the priests live. Pegesi and unicorn are known to graze in the area, and two large wolfhounds guard the area, growling and snarling at visitors who do not give the proper signal in hooting like an owl.
History
A group of brownies from the heart of the forest have taken to watching over the area, recognizing its importance. They once brought a kilmoulis and dragged it to Bellfields in a sack, demanding that it serve Taralene. While reluctant at first, the creature now understands it's incredible luck and serves willingly, while the brownies continue to spread word.
Geography
The meadow is located in the northern part of the Grandwood Forest, near the western edge.
