Zarak was a settlement in the Flanaess, built where the Bright Desert meets the Abbor-Alz hills, and abbandoned 6 years after it's founding.

History

The city was founded in 520 CY after the sage Jemrek Longsight correctly calculated the trajectory and subsequent landing zone of the meteor witnessed by Selvor the Younger some 320 years previously and deduced the high concentration of valuable metals. It was built as a headquarters for mining operations, with tunnels leading to the crash site and the mines. It brought immense wealth to Clan Highforge from the export of said metals. In 525 CY communication was lost with the mines, and in 526 CY after efforts to retake the mines proved futile, the city was abandoned after being stripped of all valuable materials.

Geography

The city is on the Eastern edge of Woolly Bay, about halfway along the coast between Fishtown and the border of The Empire of The Bright Lands.
