Template:Infobox Greyhawk creature Dukes of Hell are inhabitants of the Nine Hells of Baator who have gained great power and established a position of preeminence among devilkind. While not all dukes of Hell may actually hold the rank of duke (or any rank whatsoever), they are nearly always unique in appearance and abilities, though a good number of pit fiends do hold high positions of authority in the hierarchy of the Hells.

Collectively, all the dukes of Hell, even the Lords the Nine, owe fealty to Asmodeus. A number of these dukes constantly plot his downfall, but to date, no such plans have borne fruit.

Known dukes of Hell

The list below details all known unique devils, current and former Lords of the Nine, and those pit fiends of the Hells known to hold positions of high rank, such as the Dark Eight. Those names in italics are pit fiends, those marked with an asterisk* are female, and those marked with "†" are deceased. Unless mentioned otherwise, all those listed hold their position within the hierarchy of the Lord of their home layer.

Absent from this list are several deities who make their homes in the Nine Hells, such as Tiamat, Kurtulmak, and Sekolah. However, unique devils and pit fiends who are known to serve such deities are listed, as are those outside the hierarchy of the Hells, such as the Rabble of Devilkin.
