Ohjos was a Suloise high priest who lived almost a century before the year 592 CY. His name meant "Eye of God."

Relationships

Ohjos was the leader of the infamous Cult of the Black Flame. According to rumor, he was a direct descendant of the ancient Suloise House Malhel.

The name of the elemental power that Ohjos worshiped is not known, but some say it was the being that the Suloise called Nakimas, and which some Oeridian scholars know as Bwimb.

History

Nearly a century ago, Ohjos led the Cult of the Black Flame to take over certain ancient ruins in the Hool Marshes that had been claimed by lizardfolk tribes long before. North of the Javan River, where the Hool Marshes near the Dreadwood, this structure was once a fort built by the Keolandish to defend the kingdom's southern border. There, Ohjos and his cult performed vile experiments that resulted in several youths, including some children of nobility, disappearing. The local lord, Count Arthemene, convinced old King Nyhan IV to send a contingent of grizzled Dreadwalker rangers, along with a small army, to deal with the cult. When they arrived, however, they found the fort was entirely abandoned save for the corpses of the missing children.

Ohjos and his followers escaped by opening doorways to other planes from somewhere inside the fort's walls, perhaps an underground temple of some sort. Rumors indicate that in their hurry to leave, they left much treasure behind. The cult is said to have settled in a land to the far south. Much later, in the early 570s CY, the wizard Baltron claimed the fort in order to investigate the Malhel lore that Ohjos and his cult had preserved.
