Template:Cite sourcebook
A citation template for Dungeons & Dragons sourcebooks. To make it easier to type, it is also aliased to the code {{csb}}.
Usage
Place this after any sentence or section which references a D&D sourcebook as its source. Place the citation tag after any punctuation mark rather than before it.
Syntax
{{csb|Greyspace|7}}
{{csb|Living Greyhawk Gazetteer|21-25}}
{{csb|World of Greyhawk Box Set|9|Guide}}
{{csb|T1-4|12}}
{{csb|prefix=VEL4-08|Shadow of the Serpent|3}}
This produces:
- ↑ SJR6 Greyspace (1992), p.7.
- ↑ Living Greyhawk Gazetteer (2000), p.21-25.
- ↑ World of Greyhawk Fantasy Game Setting (1983), p.9, Guide.
- ↑ T1-4 The Temple of Elemental Evil (1985), p.12.
- ↑ VEL4-08 Shadow of the Serpent, p.3.
The template takes the following parameters:
- Book name: The first parameter is the name of the sourcebook. A number of popular abbreviations and aliases are recognized, including many series codes (e.g. T1-4, L3), Encyclopedia Greyhawkania abbreviations (LGG, TAB) and common aliases (e.g. "Folio", "Box Set"). This parameter is required.
- Page number: The second parameter is a number or range of numbers.
- Sub-book: The third parameter is which book of a box set. Normally unused.
- Prefix: A module code. NOTE: This is almost never used, as the template automatically adds the prefix for known Greyhawk books. The main use of this is for Living Greyhawk module codes.
- Note: Optional. Used to add a text quote or note after the text.
You can cite any book with this template. However, magazines have their own templates.
