Biography

Always a fan of Tolkien’s The Hobbit, Bridges started playing D&D at age 10 with the modules The Keep on the Borderlands and Isle of Dread using BECMI rules. Introduced to the World of Greyhawk™ setting in 1983 by a friend who also gifted Bridges his first Dungeon Master's Guide. Once Bridges saw the Darlene map, he never stopped playing Greyhawk, mainly running classics like the G1-3 Giant Series, Tomb of Horrors and White Plume Mountain.

Through high school and college, he began to gain more players and DM more games running Greyhawk in 2nd and 3rd editions. He largely lurked online until 2004 when he joined the fan site Canonfire!, and became a regular on its forums and Thursday night chat room (GreyTalk). Bridges became noted in the community for writing a series of articles for Canonfire! on the land of Ull.

GreyhawkMike has been drawing comics since he could hold a pencil. He's an avid fan of The Mighty Thor and Mad Magazine. Bridges started creating a weekly series of World of Greyhawk comic strips from 2005-2010 based on the deities of Oerth. This project was followed by the collaborative graphic novel Castle Greyhawk written by Scott Casper, which ran from 2012-2019. During this time Bridges also ran the blog Greyhawkery from 2010-2021 showcasing Greyhawk news, nostalgic articles, and original maps.

Bridges continues to be active in the Greyhawk community with other collaborative projects such as the Oerth Journal as a contributing author and artist. He began weekly Greyhawk Twitch stream Legends & Lore with Anna Meyer in 2018, which added Jay Scott in 2019.
