Other character classes

I don't see any evidence that clerics or rangers can be part of the Old Faith. The Old Faith is the druidic hierarchy originally described in the 1st edition Player's Handbook. The Living Greyhawk Gazetteer and the recent Living Greyhawk column both mention only druids. For example, LG page 161: "The druids of the inner circles of the Old Faith gain far more prestige and respect than those other groups [other nature religions and other types of druids]... Druids of the Old Faith are completely neutral in philosophy... any druid of purely neutral alignment may matriculate through the Nine Circles of Initiation, regardless of what nature god that druid venerates. The more junior druids must serve as Ovates..." and so on. "Druid" and "priest of the Old Faith" are always used synonymously, and clerics or rangers are never mentioned. Unless you've seen a reference that I haven't, I think it's safe to assume that the Old Faith is a druid-only organization. -- Rip 19:25, 24 January 2008 (EST)

IIRC, T1-4 mentions several townsfolk of Hommlet being followers of the Old Faith. I've always interpreted "Old Faith" as the name of a religion, & "druid" as a member of its priesthood.--Robbastard 21:19, 24 January 2008 (EST)

I concur. Other classes can belong to the laity; my concern was primarily the mention of clerics in the priesthood. I'm going to take it out -- Rip 21:21, 24 January 2008 (EST)
