He is descended from House Cranden, and has particularly close ties with Captain-General Osmeran of Cordrend in Nyrond.
Perren controls a group of about 80 rangers who patrol the area around Elversford and other fortified settlements within the Adri Forest. His rangers are strictly regimented and wear insignia patches to show their skill level.
