Hello and welcome!

I am the Canonfire.com, ENWorld.com, Wizards.com and sometime Paizo.com poster GVDammerung, or just GVD, which translates to Glenn Vincent Dammerung.

I started playing Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) in 1979. I got my start in the World of Greyhawk (GH) with the Folio, which I ordered out of a mail order catalog after reading a review in Dragon magazine, to which I was an earlier subscriber. I have never found a setting I like better.

My present GH campaign traces its roots back to the Folio days but substantially began in 1987. I have one player still with me from that time. I married her.

My taste in editions runs to 1st Edition D&D and the original D&D (OD&D). I moved over to second edition D&D when it came out and after several years of resisting, eventually adopted 3rd edition D&D. For my money, however, 1st Edition D&D was the best edition of the game, with the OD&D Rules Cyclopedia a close second. But 3rd edition just has so many toys!

I'm hoping to use this wiki as something of a Table of Contents to link to and organize various Greyhawk writing I've done. If I have a strength as a DM, I think it is in finding ways to enrich my games with a good deal of original background information that I hope makes the games more involving and interesting for my players. I'm happy to share that material with others if they might find it useful. I also just enjoy developing GH's backstory for my own amusement, even if it never directly comes into actual play. Hey! They don't call it a hobby for nothing!
