Lake Opotleotle is a river-fed lake in northern Hepmonaland.
Description
A shallow body of water, Lake Opotleotle provides a bounty of muck-eating fish, although the ferocious fish limit excursions into the water. Lergal, Sharbakal, and Xolapeqansn all fish in it and consider it a neutral meeting place. Dark shapes fly above the lake at night, returning to roost in a ruin on the southern shore, rumored to be an abandoned bat-humanoid temple.[1]
History
Geography
Opotleotle is only ~30 miles west of the northern end of the Hezcua Mountains. Though its name is unknown in lore, a river runs through the Centeo Jungle from the mountains to feed the lake.
The river basin which flows westward from Lake Opotleotle becomes the Chiuhtle River, which in turn splits in two and spawns the Tlicue River. The Chiuhtle flows all the way to the Chebikav shore on Xuxchan Bay.
