Sam E. Wood is an artist whose work has appeared in many products for the World of Greyhawk, and in D&D in general.
Biography
Wood was born in eastern Washington State, USA. His family moved north, and Wood grew up in a small fishing town in southeast Alaska[1]
He attended Harvard University in 1993-1995.[1]
Works
Wood began working at Wizards as a contractor making color proofs in the pre-press department in 1995. In his second summer at Wizards, he finally broke into card art, working on several cards for the BattleTech trading card game. He later became a staff illustrator.[2] Wood's earliest work in the game industry was for the BattleTech Collectible Card Game TCG, and he went on to work on games like Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, Alternity, Doomtown, Legend of the Five Rings, and Chainmail Miniatures Game.[2] He collaborated with Todd Lockwood on D&D and didconcept work on the "vast majority of the Chainmail miniatures".[2]
Wood has continued to produce interior illustrations and cartography for many Dungeons & Dragons books and Dragon magazine since 1997, as well as cover art for Deities and Demigods (2002), Underdark (2003), Frostburn (2004), and Fiendish Codex I: Hordes of the Abyss (2006). He has also produced artwork for many other games including Star*Drive (TSR), Deadlands (Pinnacle Entertainment Group), and Wheel of Time (Wizards of the Coast), and illustrated cards for the Magic: The Gathering collectible card game.[3]

Wood has such an extensive portfolio for both Dungeons & Dragons in general, and Greyhawk specifically, it would be difficult, if not imporrible, to list them all.

- Greyhawk dragon—Living Greyhawk Journal #1 (2000), "Enchiridion of the Fiend Sage".
- Circle of Eight—concept art for revised material; "Window on the World", Living Greyhawk Journal #6 (2001), Dragon Magazine #290, p108[note 1]
- Chainmail Miniatures Game (2002)—the overwhelming majority of the art for the game, especially covers and concept art
- Felldrake-concept art and various depictions.
