General info
Gender:Male
Species:Human
Class:Magic-user

Dane was a magic-user who lived shortly after the Rain of Colorless Fire. He was an apprentice of the celebrated Suel sorcerer and mapmaker, Madd.

History

Madd managed to escape the destruction of the Rain of Colorless Fire, taking eight of his magical maps with him, and settled in a city whose name is no longer remembered. Madd led a peaceful life, teaching magic and conducting experimentations. Shortly before his death Madd created a ninth map. When he died, he left his works to his apprentice Dane.

Dane went into seclusion shortly after his master's death, and concentrated on improving the magical maps that were his inheritance. He managed to create duplicates of all nine maps, as well as some additional maps which were various combinations of the original nine. Dane refused to sell any of his maps to others, and disappeared mysteriously. Copies of these maps have appeared in the millennium since, many of them in the Free City of Greyhawk.
