Description
Grey College is an excellent institution of learning that offers classes and degrees in many fields, including alchemy, astrology and astronomy, architecture and engineering, healing, geography, economics and finance, the fine arts, accounting and mathematics, and history, located in the Free City of Greyhawk.
History
Originally part of a noble's estate, known as Clerkburg, the college got its start when the land was purchased by Zagig Yragere after he became the mayor of Greyhawk. He turned over the manor house on the estate to the administrators of a small school, which formed the nucleus of what became Grey College.

Grey College has 400-450 students each term. About 3 out of 10 students are not from Greyhawk.

The Domain of Greyhawk's standard coinage consists of the platinum plate (pp), gold orb (gp), electrum lucky (ep), silver noble (sp), and copper common (cp). All of the coins are round, except for the platinum plate, which is square.[citation needed] As recently as 591 CY, the economy was such that a platinum piece (plate) was worth 5gp. That changed shortly thereafter, such that a pp was worth 10 gp.
Tuition
Students are almost exclusively upper or middle class, as tuition starts at roughly 50gp/year and doubles every year thereafter.
Locations
- College Hall-Faculty offices, the library, and meeting rooms.
- Grey College Observatory-Domed shaped building just south of the Duke's Gate.
- Hall of the Dean-Contains classrooms, lecture halls, laboratories, and storerooms. This is the oldest building and built during the reign of Zagig Yragere.
- Timber Hall-This is where most of the classrooms are.
