Kordan Badaxe is a mountain dwarf ruling a stronghold in the Jotens.

Description

Kordan is an average-looking mountain dwarf, with his only distinguishing feature being his rare deep blue eyes. He stands four feet tall with brown hair. He weighs 150 lbs. He is a very serious dwarf, but good company. He warms up quickly to dwarves and rangers that oppose giants.

History

Kordan was born to mountain dwarves of common status. He began a military career, but soon grew bored of that life and volunteered to guard a new silver and mithral mine being constructed at the location where the Joten Mountains meet the Little Hills. After a very successful year, the mine was attacked by ogres and ettins led by a group of hill giants. Kordan was knocked unconscious in the battle and woke up a few miles from the nearby town of Datmil. With the aid of a group of five adventurers, he freed his people from the giants' slave pens and earned the nickname "Badaxe" and a reputation as a hero. He built a stronghold shortly thereafter.

Dragon #131 lists the location of the aforementioned silver and mithral mine as hex H5-159 on the Darlene map. However, these coordinates do not match the location described, "where the Jotens meet the Little Hills." The proper coordinates are most likely T4-139, S4-138, or R4-137.
