This category groups together all bodies of people who form a governmental, religious, deliberative, or advisory body. They typically are either elected or appointed, manage the affairs of a particular locality or authority. These bodies may be municipal, civic, legislative, or directorial. Any such may be formally constituted, or may be an informal organization, but usually have a designated or restricted number of members and meet regularly.
