History

The Vale was a peaceful home for halflings and a few others. Occasional encounters with Rhennee from the Nyr Dyv or humanoids from the Cairn Hills were rare disruptions. The region maintained semi-autonomy control, remaining untouched by the greed and corruption of Suel culture.[1] This changed during the Midsummer Festival of 592 CY when Orcs invaded. It was not until 594 CY when Lord Ellis Lorinar lead the Bär Rampant and defeated the orcs. After that, Lord Ellis and the greedy nobles of the duchy took over, striping the halflings of their weapons and military, dividing their lands amongst themselves. It was at this time the Vale became known as the Vale County.
